Brooks Bare, 18, is facing charges following the investigation into a crash that claimed the life of 19-year-old Nicholas Rados on Saturday morning in Tara-Leeway Heights.
According to the Arlington Police Department, at around 2 a.m. on Oct. 12, first responders were dispatched to the 2200 block of North Harrison Street, where there was a reported single-vehicle crash.
Paramedics treated Rados at the scene and rushed him to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators say that detectives believe Bare was driving northbound on North Harrison Street when he struck several parked vehicles on the side of the road, resulting in his vehicle overturning.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
At the time of the crash, Bare's vehicle had five people inside. One was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries and was since discharged. The other two passengers were evaluated at the scene by paramedics.
Bare was charged with DUI/involuntary manslaughter and bread/blood test refusal. He's being held without bond at the Arlington County Detention Facility.
The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing.
